There is a lot going on in this photo. Lets start with the doorway to my building. That is two people under a blanket. There is a wheelchair in the corner. These people are obviously in a bad position. My building actually had to lock all the bathroom because people were trying to live in the bathrooms. There are a couple homeless shelters and drug centers nearby so the homeless sometimes outnumber the shelter beds and are forced to take shelter elsewhere. Its a fucked up situation.

Issue #2 in the photo. that fucker is the air ride light. when I picked up the car from the shop last night it came on. I couldn;t get the system to make presure, which it was before I dropped it off. The shop I brought it to was not familiar with the system so I made sure to show him how to put it in ‘lift mode’ for when he had it on the lift. I kinda doubt he turned it back on for the test drive. the compressor runs but I dont get any pressure. That made for an incredibly rough ride this morning. what would you guys do? All my local family use this guy and have for years.

To be honest if you take it to a shop were you have to show the mechanic the system, stop. Because if something happens it’s your word against his that you showed him the correct way and that he followed it.

Take it too someone who does.

to his defense, he was able to figure out the oil leak and fixed it quick and cheap. i didn’t think this thing would come into play at all. A lot of people don’t know about this system. I had to explain it to the guys when I got my new tires on too.

Can you find anything online for your air right problem? I can imagine a mechanic putting it into lift mode, and not putting it back into normal mode for the test drive, must happen more often.

The allroad’s height control is dumb, it’s only height reference is itself...like it knows where 50mm is now, so if something changes and it thinks it’s at 50mm (I’m just using a random number) it won’t do anything about it. You can actually use that stupidity to trick the car into lowering itself.

Anyway, I’d try unhooking the battery and plugging it back in. It sounds like your car took some sort of issue with being on a lift, it may have gone into a fault mode.

the system starts up as it normally should but it seems that it can;t build pressure and goes into safe mode (shuts off) after a set amount of time

Well, the good news is that it’s probably not an airbag since it would be really weird for all four to fail like that at once. I seem to remember hearing the vent for the system was on the compressor, maybe it’s suck open?

Back when I had a Saab, I tried sticking with my same mechanic. But he didn’t have the Saab WIS... so he wasn’t able to diagnose things properly. And that meant unnecessary repairs, a bunch of guesswork and stuff he couldn’t figure out because he didn’t have the necessary tools/training/experience.

You will probably have to bite the bullet and take your Audi to an actual Audi specialist just like how I had to switch to a Saab Specialist who knew what he was doing.

Oil pressure sender. But nowthe air ride compresser failed.

NIICE. that is a nice, easy, dumb fix. i am glad that it worked........ is there a simple way to reset the air ride?.......

well, if its not building pressure, you could check that the lines are all connected. you could check that the valve is connected(electronic connections), check that the level sensors are in place, and undamaged. you might check that the car was returned to the not on a lift mode. you might consider doing a hard reset of the computer(unplug the battery terminals, and then touch them together for 30 seconds). check the simple stuff first.......

or get a flatbilled hat, and work on the “fitment”..........
